This project involved implementing an efficient pumping solution for irrigating effluent from a two-pond system using an existing Williams Spider Deluxe travelling irrigator.
The client needed a reliable and cost-effective solution to pump effluent from a two-pond system to an existing Williams Spider Deluxe travelling irrigator. The farm had previously relied on contractors for pond emptying, which was inefficient, and past trials with petrol and electric pumps had not met their needs. Additionally, the closest three-phase power source was 150 meters away, making an electric pump impractical.
To address these challenges, we supplied a Williams Pooma 65 PTO pump mounted on a trailer frame. This pump allows for easy movement between the two ponds and includes a second outlet to enable localised effluent recirculation for improved stirring while pumping. The pump was carefully sized to accommodate the undulating terrain and allow for potential future mainline extensions, ensuring long-term functionality and efficiency.
Our effluent system was a constant source of frustration due to frequent blockages. After consulting with the Williams team, we decided to install an effluent stone trap. The difference has been remarkable! Since the installation, we haven't experienced a single blockage, and our operations run much smoother. The Williams team was professional and efficient throughout the process. I highly recommend their services to anyone struggling with similar issues!
